Russia top of the rankings after subdivision two
Russia went top of the women’s team rankings after subdivision two of the inaugural FIG Junior Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Győr, Hungary. Viktoriia Listunova is leading the individual all-around.
After United States in subdivision one it was time for Russia to take the arena floor in Győr at the women’s team event/individual all-around/qualifications.
Viktoriia Listunova (55.323 points) and Vladislava Urazova (55.298) locked the first two places in all-around, and Elena Gerasimova (54.565) recorded the fourth highest score – it was clear that Russia move into top position in the team event, overtaking the United States. No wonder that the Russian gymnasts were very happy with their performance in the mixed zone – they even mentioned that it was quite close to perfect, and that's not something the famously perfectionist gymnasts usually say!
Russia were the first team to break the 110 point barrier in team and they enjoy a rather large, 2.274 point lead over the United States. Belgium are up third, just pushing Great Britain down from the intermediate team podium. Three subdivisions are still to come, results are expected around 20:45 CET.
